Production Consultant
Tomasz Baryła
Facts from the floor, not from a desk
Tomasz doesn't believe in charts that can't be confirmed while standing by a machine. He started his work in production in September 2001 as a machine setter in a radiator factory near Lodz. For 23 years, he went through every level – from operator to shift manager in a large appliance factory. He has worked at Solvium Strategia Sp. z o.o. since November 2018 and has since conducted 114 technical audits in medium-sized manufacturing companies.
At Solvium, Tomasz is responsible for making sure machines don't stand idle. In March 2024, he finished a project in a plant in Pabianice, where by changing the way injection molding machines are changed over, he reclaimed 34 minutes on every shift. We count every zloty, so Tomasz always starts by looking for losses where others see the 'norm'. If material ends up in the bin, he finds the reason in 2 hours and 15 minutes instead of writing reports about it for a week.
His work method is simple: he puts facts on the table. You won't hear from him about visions of the future, but you will find out why your line number 3 generates 7.4% more scrap than line number 1. Honestly, Tomasz can be stubborn when implementing changes, but he only does it when he sees real profit for the business owner. No fluff about visions – just pure numbers and more efficient work from people.
Last quarter, he helped a furniture industry company reduce energy costs by 12.8% simply by correcting the kiln startup schedule. He knows that at the end of the day, it's the financial result that matters, not how pretty the certificates look on the office wall. He is on the floor at 6:00 AM to see how the shift actually starts because that's where the most money escapes.
Heads-up: Tomasz is not a consultant who will just agree with you. If a process is poorly planned, he'll say so directly in the first hour of the meeting. Privately a classic car enthusiast, which translates into his precision in monitoring machine maintenance for our clients. If you want to check where your time is leaking, he is the first person to contact.
